I’ve heard about this phenomena before and I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason Republicans harped on Clinton’s indiscretions so much wasn’t just politics: They were jealous that Clinton could score blow-jobs from twenty-somethings without having to pay for it.

Elephant head, elephant head, I worship a god with an elephant head.
At thirty-three it’s about time that I got a tattoo. I’ve often thought about getting a tattoo, but I’ve never had an idea that I felt that I’d still be happy with for the rest of my life (with the exception of a Calvin and Hobbes that Rhode Montijo drew for me back in 1999, that might be tattoo number two.)
I’ve long been an admirer of the Hindu god Ganesh, the Lord of Success. I was reading about the symbolism of the figure it occurred to me that with a little customization, it could be a piece that I’d want forever.
His upper right hand holds a goad, to propel you forward on the eternal path.
His lower right hand holds his left tusk which he broke off to use as a pen to transcribe the Mahabharata. This symbolizes sacrifice in the name of knowledge.
His lower left hand holds a rosary symbolizing the continuous search for knowledge. In the past I’ve used the sphere to represent the same thing so I’m going with that.
His upper left hand holds a noose, to capture and remove the difficulties in your way. Well, the noose has different implications here in North America so I’m replacing it. First I thought that a machete would be a good replacement, but that would be too ham-handed, so I’m probably going to go with a skeleton key instead. If anyone has any other suggestions for a one handed tool that removes obstacles I’d like to hear it.
The snake around his belt symbolizes the infinite energy of the universe and the mouse attending him shows that he is humble enough to be attended by the meekest of animals.
I’m having the tat on my lower back to be over my Swadhisthana Chakra, the chakra of creativity.
Then I’ll have the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth over the creative center of my body.

I checked out Avalon I & II, Chronic Tattoo, and Tower Tattoo and I decided to go with Bill Kieffer at Chronic.

Goal for Comic Con:
Charlie Yi, Steve Schwab, Eric Nunes and I are trying to get Anatomically Incorrect & Ethically Challenged in an ashcan edition for Comic Con. It’d be really nice to have something to hand out when schmusing at the Con, and to justify my Pro Pass.

The Turtle and the Pirate
Because we were a team, Yi and I were disqualified from the 24 Hour Comic Anthology. Which is fair, with more people contributing it was less of a challenge.
So, for next year, I’m learning how to draw. I’ve tried this before, but I felt that I lacked the desire to doodle that most artists I know seem to have. What was really holding me back was the lack of a structured approach to learning, even the class I took was taught with a “just go ahead and draw” approach, and I really don’t like to stumble forward like that without any initial instruction.
So I checked out Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. The exercises are geared toward training the left side of the brain to relax which allows the right side to go ahead and do it’s thing. So when drawing a chair, instead of just plowing ahead with a “I know what a chair looks like” attitude I break the object down into lines and play more attention to the lines’ proximity to each other.
Any way, I’m 58 pages into the book and I drew this yesterday:

Whis was copied (not traced) from the cover of this week’s Amazing Spider-Man:

I’ve a long way to go before I can draw my own comics, but I gotta start somewhere.

100 Word Story – Sense Datum
Michael lay next to his new lover, reminded again that everyone's body… smelled.
Not that he thought of himself as odorless, but the odor of his body was familiar and easily ignored. Her aroma was strange, not unpleasant, but different.
Eventually he'd accommodate, and her smell would become a familiar thing. But in a few months (weeks? days?) she'd go on her way and he'd find a new lover with a different smell. And then Michael would have to adjust all over again.
She looked up at him and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
"Hmmm…? Me? …nothing."
