If it ain’t Lost than I don’t give a rat’s ass.

Charlie brought home season one of Lost [Flash] which proceeded to consume the next eighteen hours of my life. Then I went out and bought my own copy. TV this good has to be supported.

A great cast fuels the character driven plot and every episode (sometimes every commercial break) ends in a cliffhanger that keeps me hooked.

I caught the Season two premiere last night hoping that there’d be some kind of resolution to the three plot threads that ended season one, but in the Lost tradition every revelation leaves the audience with more questions than answers [link to spoilers].

Maybe I’ll call it “Mag[i!]ck?”

After years of “been meaning to”s, this month I finally bought a copy of Liber Null & Psychonaut and began practicing Chaos Magic.

Reasons:

 • Two of my favorite writers are magicians.
 • I’ve spent a lot of time developing my body, but very little time developing my mind. I should even this out since the latter pays my bills.
 • An interest in studying belief systems for insights into human nature.
 • Fictional reference.

I got my manual, I got my journal, let’s see what happens…

Liber MMM – Mind Control – Motionlessness
Some basic meditation techniques to develop one’s ability to concentrate. Stage one, sit perfectly still for at least 5 minutes, once fifteen minutes have been achieved proceed to the next lesson.

I’m surprised how quickly my focus has developed. Last week I could only stay still for eight minutes before snapping. But last night I went twenty minutes with little difficulty. I know my tendencie to half-ass or skip basic lessons and rush right into advanced material unprepared. To break this habits I’m setting my goals higher than suggested. Tonight I did twenty-two minutes, tomorrow I’ll go for twenty-four before moving on to the next exercise.

I love blown’ things up!

At our last party one of Charlie’s friends brought two 5 liter mini-kegs of Warsteiner beer. We put the kegs in the fridge and promptly forgot about them.
“What a waste”, we thought. But then we tasted the first keg.
It seems that Charlie’s friend wasn’t being generous, he was unloading some really nasty beer on us.
I still have one of the kegs, untapped. I was going to throw it out but now I’m thinking this beer should be destroyed for the good of humanity.

Any suggestions?

Killing Time

“Last night I dreamt I was dying”, Peter said from my bedside.

“Is that *weez* supposed to be *weez* funny?”, I gasped and spit between the respirator cycles.

He looked down at his shoes and squirmed a little after I pointed out his faux-pauz. “No I just… I thought, maybe, it was something we could talk about.”

Once I would have ripped him a new one for saying something so stupid. But twenty years of tough love hadn’t made him any smarter, and I was just too damn tired to care, so I just turned my head towards the window.

Pretend that you’re dead

Urban Dead is a “browser-based, grid-mapped multi-player game where you play the survivor or victim of a zombie outbreak in a quarantined city center.”

It reminds me of the old days of MUDs. We didn’t have fancy video cards an mouses, we just had the command prompt. That’s the way it was and we liked it!

My advice: Find a police station and use all your action points searching for guns and ammo and don’t jump out in the street unless you’ve got enough action points to get back to a barricaded building.

Why I hate Starbucks; the generic-ization of our culture.

Fuck Starbucks.

The goal; paint the whole world beige. Not a world I’d want to live in.

The banner is in reference to the red paint someone had splashed all over the store front. Well intentioned, but it didn’t cost Starbucks a dime.

How does one run a corporate franchise out of the neighborhood?
[Edit: Oh, and their coffee sucks ass!]

Corporations own everything.

Inside my new lined, hardcover journal it says “No part of this book may be reproduced without written permission of the publisher.”

So if you’ve been using horizontal lines, spaces, tabs or other kinds of whitespace without clearing it with paperblanks you’d better cut it out.
