Cause: Automatically updating to Firefox 1.5.0.5.
Effect: Nuked all my bookmarks. Wiped all my settings for both the browser and all extensions. Any attempts to change settings or set bookmarks fail.
Solution: Start Firefox in Safe Mode, Select “Reset toolbars and controls” and press “Make Changes and Restart”
Effect: Everything is back to normal except the bookmarks are still trashed so I have to recollect them, but I’m taking the opportunity to organise them correctly this time:

The work for this year’s Comic Con was “packed”. The dealer’s room was slammed on Friday and even worse on Saturday.
But overall I feel pretty good about it. I got copies of Picking Up the Ghost Part 1 In a lot of the right hands and I bought everything I needed:

You know what else I got that’s 21 inches?
My shin!
Less than a week after I installed Fedora on slave and got one of my sites back it got hacked and was being used as a spam relay.
Fuck it.
I’m obviously never going to be a good sysadmin, I’m just going to move my sites over to some hosting service and sell slave at auction.
It’s cheaper that way anyhow…
Evan Smith (whom most of you don’t know) got married to Norma Chang last weekend.

(Proof.)
I hadn’t seen Evan in over six years, since we graduated. He’s been spending all this time getting a PhD in something…something brain… something. I used to be able to keep track of his research, but that was a long time ago.
We made it to the wedding just in time and I remembered that my phone records video just in time.
Congratulations, you two.
Also on the trip, Carly and I visited
Spacekitty and
The Bone in LA and stopped by
Madonna Inn on the way back.
I recommend all three.
Hey, Sports Racers!
zefrank‘s started a regular video blog he calls the show. He also doesn’t capitalize much.
You may remember him from his instructional videos, or his music videos.
The blog requires Quicktime. Be sure to check out the archive.
Fabuloso.
Tomorrow, Carly and I will be driving up the Pebble Beach for the wedding of Evan Smith and Norma Chang.
Despite the best efforts of their convoluted website and broken links I was able to Amazon their wedding gift (I think) and Google directions to the Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
We’ll be stopping by to see the Bone because personal collection is the only way he’ll return my copy of Supreme Power.
This means driving through that massive parking lot hellhole Orange County. Yeah. Traffic. I’d better stop by Lou’s Records on the way up.
Hopefully I’ll be back Sunday night. Adjust your lives accordingly.
