His arm lay on the table, pointer finger touching the coffee cup handle. He looked away and his finger tapped once.
Neither said anything for a long moment. His eyes went from the chair behind her (another tap), to a copy of The German Army 1933-1945 on the bookshelf, to the barista (tap), to the floor.
He drew a long breath, looked back at her and said, “You think we should break up then?”
Her upper lip trembled a bit while she slowly nodded yes.
He nodded too, looked away and asked, “Who’s going to blog this first?”
