The goal was: Finish the first draft by the end of March, take April off, begin the Second draft in May.
But the combination of dead-laptop and new-girlfriend shot that in the foot. Of course I’m not complaining about the girlfriend, but I’m still trying to get my money back from HP before I buy a Macbook Plus. And from what I’ve been hearing it might behoove me to wait on the MacBook until the end of the summer to catch the new model and OS.
When I sit in front of the desktop I get into the day-job mentality and I can’t get into a writing mode.
So I’m going to have to start writing by hand. I’ve been reluctant to do this because a) it takes so long and b) I think it’s important to write with two hands to keep both halves of the brain engaged.
But “done is beautiful” and getting somewhere is better than getting nowhere.
I didn’t twist your arm! 😉
Girl, you can twist anything you want…
If you decide not to wait til the end of summer, you are welcome to mooch the end of my student discount. I think it’s a couple hundred bucks off for the Macbook Pro.
I think it’s important to write with two hands to keep both halves of the brain engaged.
And yet, people wrote great novels before the invention of the typewriter.
Can’t you get an old used laptop running Win98 for a hundred bucks? You’re just using it as a word processor. Check the PennySaver.
You can use both hands if you get yourself a typewriter…and you can play with the nifty ribbon.

I’ll keep that in mind, Smoove.
But I don’t think that the dawn of Science Fiction came shortly after the dawn of the typewriter.
I’m thinking about that too, I just need a USB port for my thumbdrive.
… was a coincidence.
