Unfortunately the Boeing systems administrators frown on contractors installing software on their computers.

Laaaame. I use vim here.
Alternatively, you could just install everything on a thumbdrive and run from there…

I did sneak vim onto the one box I use most of the time.
But I Remote Desktop into these boxes, so the thumbdrive isn’t practical.
Mostly I miss the shell.

Maybe just do all the work on your machine and just push it out when you need to test it live? That’s what I do at my new job… but we don’t touch the live servers at all…

Unfortunately, I’m working with enterprise software. I’d have to run at least three virtual pcs to simulate my environment.
I got a lot of ram, so I probably could, I just don’t want to spend an hour every morning synchronizing them.
